Biography:

Sherry is a member of the Insurance Defense, Insurance Coverage, Workers Compensation and Subrogation practice groups, and she works primarily in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, construction litigation, products liability, premises liability, personal injury, professional liability, workers compensation and subrogation. Sherry assists in the handling of cases for individual, institutional and commercial clients, including jury and bench trials, administrative and arbitration hearings, and appeals in the State and Federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is also trained as a Child’s Best Interest Attorney and is a court-appointed attorney representing children in child custody cases. She is active in the bar associations for the jurisdictions in which she practices, and she is an integral part of the firm’s legal assistance and legal education programs.<<For more biographical information>>>

Sherry was born in Washington County, Maryland on April 26, 1980. She grew up in Clear Spring, Maryland, and graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1998, where she played tennis, volleyball, ran track and was active in the band, student council, FBLA, FFA and history club. She attended Towson University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in May, 2001. At Towson, Sherry also interned for the Honorable Donald F. Munson, Senator, District 2, during the 1999 and 2001 Legislative Sessions.

In 2001, Sherry moved to Morgantown, West Virginia, to attend West Virginia University College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2004. At WVU, Sherry was a student attorney in the Tax Clinic representing individuals in tax matters and disputes with the IRS. Sherry was also a student attorney in the Civil Clinic representing individuals in family law matters. In addition, she participated in the Appalachian Legal Services assisting individuals in family law matters. She was also very active in the Public Interests Advocates and served as an officer during her third year.

After graduating from law school, Sherry served as a law clerk in the District Court of Maryland for Washington and Frederick Counties for the Honorable W. Milnor Roberts, the Honorable Janice R. Ambrose, the Honorable Frederick J. Bower, the Honorable Ralph H. France II and the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Jr. In 2006, she served as a clerk to the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Jr. and the Honorable John H. McDowell of the Circuit Court for Washington County, before joining McCarthy Wilson in November of 2007 as an associate in the Hagerstown office. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and Washington County Bar Association.

In her spare time, Sherry enjoys running, kickboxing and spending time with her cat, Noah, and is an avid WVU football and NASCAR fan.
