Biography:
Kathryn is a member of the Insurance Defense, Commercial Litigation and Large Loss Subrogation practice groups, and she works primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense, insurance coverage, catastrophic fire and explosion claims, toxic torts, products liability, and large loss subrogation claims. Kathryn assists in the handling of cases for individual, institutional and commercial clients, including jury and bench trials, administrative and arbitration hearings, and appeals in the State and Federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is active in several bar associations and is an integral part of the firm’s legal assistance and legal education programs.<<For more biographical information>>>
Kathryn was born in Washington, D.C. on March 19, 1978. She grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Langley High School in 1996.
In 2000, Kathryn graduated cum laude from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. During her four years at JMU, she was very active in her sorority, ultimately becoming Vice President of Fraternity Relations.
After college, Kathryn worked for a few years and traveled throughout Europe before going to law school at the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America, where she joined the law review and served as one of its Editors during her third year. She also worked as a law clerk at McCarthy Wilson for two years and was a member of the George Washington American Inn of Court. Following law school, Kathryn served as the law clerk to the Honorable William J. Rowan, III in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.
In August of 2007, after her clerkship with Judge Rowan ended, Kathryn returned to McCarthy Wilson as an associate. She is currently a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, as well as the Montgomery County chapters of the Women’s Bar Association and the American Inns of Court.
In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys reading and traveling. She and her husband, David, currently reside in Reston, Virginia.
