
Stephen Erhart
Biography:
Stephen works primarily in the areas of general civil litigation, insurance defense, construction litigation, commercial litigation, workers' compensation, and personal injury. Stephen has handled or assisted in the handling of numerous cases for individual, institutional, and commercial clients, in the State and Federal courts and administrative forums of Maryland.
Stephen was born in Takoma Park, Maryland in 1980 and is a life-long resident of the State of Maryland. During his high school years at Colonel Zadok Magruder, Stephen participated in baseball, wrestling, and cross country running and completed a Cancer Research Training Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute at NIH in Bethesda. Stephen attended St. Mary's College of Maryland and earned dual degrees in Public Policy and Economics while playing rugby and learning to sail.
In 2004, Stephen began attending University of Baltimore School of Law and later became involved with the Lawyers' Campaign Against Hunger and Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity (Carroll Inn). While attending law school, Stephen worked as a law clerk for McCarthy Wilson. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Louise G. Scrivener, in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Coming from a background in insurance and medical malpractice defense, Stephen joined McCarthy Wilson as an associate in May, 2011.
Stephen is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, and is also involved in the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Inns of Court (associate 2008-2009, 2010-2011). Stephen resides in Potomac and in his leisure time enjoys sports and outdoor activities.
